Since this was my first test of a star trail photo I'm technically satisfied enough. But the light pollution is a bit too high. I'm very keen on continue this experiment, but now I'm back in Hamburg, an always glowing city and with an even more light polluted sky, so I guess no more of these experiments for a while.
The light to the left is from a city with 18000 inhabitants around 20km away (Hässleholm).
Exposure time is a bit more than 1h.
@Ralph Jones: Hi Ralph! Thanks for your comments. I love the 7D. The upgrade from 40D was a big step, especially when it comes to iso and noise, and that alone felt like a reason to upgrade. Other smaller things I like (compared to the 40D) are for example, the view finder (brighter and 100%), many focus points and possibility to quickly chose cluster of points for the AF, bracketing goes to /-3 and exposure compensation goes to /-5, weather proofed body, etc... I'm very happy with the 7D. I had it for about half a year, but I'm still excited over it. I have not yet made any serious attempts for filming. I plan to do it as soon as I upgrade my PC. It is just to slow for video handling. Please send me a mail if there is anything else you would like to know...
