Fireworks of the Autumn

Posted by

The nature exploded in autumn colors. After hdr+tonemapping in photomatix I locally decreased some grain in the front maple leaf by "layer masking" a second image. Wind and long exposure times gave the unsharp effects to the right.

Fantastic tone mapping Albert, I'm playing around going wild and wacky by processing HDRs first in Photomatix before moving them into Topaz for even more fun!

I love this composition! And you did a great job on the maple leaf! HDR really brings out the texture seen in the wood as well. Thank you VERY MUCH for the idea of layer masking! I do that with my selective coloring, now if I can just remember doing it in this circumstance.

Nice work. The big leaf in the lower left hand corner sells the shot. My eye flies from there down the log to the blurry area, making me a little dizzy. It is a tricky image to get hold of mentally for me, as it seems like something you would see when you're running, and then you see the big leaf and focus on that. -V
